My MMA picks have been updated to include Saturday’s UFC 170 PPV event. This Saturday I have a strong feeling we’ll be seeing more U.S. Olympic medalists in the UFC than we’ll see on NBC. Boom. Make that headline.
This is a stellar card, match-up wise, and I couldn’t be more pumped. On my predictions page, I have prepared a series of haikus (those are still cool, right?) and some short breakdowns of the top three fights on the main card. Read it and creep.
Two American monsters are looking to take the straps back to the states. They’re up against two badass Brazilians that, combined, haven’t been beaten in over 16 years. Was I bold enough to predict a Brazilian blowout? Only with my money. What a patriot. I will tell you this, though – I’m feeling pretty confident that at least one of the titles will change hands on Saturday. I’m trying to rip through the space/time continuum to peer into the future but I just can’t make anything out. That’s all I got.
My MMA picks have been updated to include Saturday’s UFC on Fox 10: Henderson vs Thompson event. Free MMA on TV with a handful of top contenders? Count me in. This event might even spell out my 100th incorrect pick…so … that’s … something I’m looking forward to.
Interesting matchups ahoy! There are a few fights here that are sure to clear up some of the scruff residing towards the top half each division. Plus, we get to see baby Pettis fight a hippy. Sold. This might be the first time you’ve seen me post about my picks but they’re constantly being updated. Like my own wikipedia. There’s even a haiku breakdown of the entire main card for Saturday. That’s extracurricular entertainment you just don’t see too often in 2014.
My MMA picks have been updated to include Saturday’s UFC 168: Silva vs Weidman event. This will be the last UFC event of 2013, and it’s a hell of a way to end the best year in history for MMA.
This card is topped off with two colossal rematches. In fact, these two particular fights are the most intriguing fights possible in their respective weight classes. That’s rare and I can’t wait. Ending the best year of MMA on such a high note is priceless. Oh, wait. No. It’s worth an extra $5.
These fighters couldn’t enjoy Thanksgiving as much as the rest of us, so the least we can do is give them our attention for the night. There’s also three female fights on the main card, which is a UFC record. It’s not the wildest card in history, but it’s definitely going to satisfy my weekly fix. Now hurry up before I get the shakes.
Dan “Daniel” Chronister is back in this latest installment of karaoke domination. ‘NSync should really think about subbing him in for Joey Fatone on their next tour. Dan sharpens his steel weekly in the Hunington Beach area – be on the lookout.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for a special boy band blunder!
My MMA picks have been updated to include Saturday’s UFC 167: St-Pierre vs Hendricks event, which marks the 20th Anniversary of the UFC. It will be airing live on PPV with free prelims on Fox Sports 1. I’m just hoping for a Kimo tribute.
This a monster event and it’s stacked from top to bottom. At the top, there’s a cyborg Canadian and a monstrous beard. At the bottom, there’s a pair of mean light heavyweights. There’s also some really good stuff in the middle. That’s not even counting the luchador and the guy with an arrow on his chest. My, how the times have changed. Just watch it, alright? Trust me.
You don’t usually see such a huge disparity between the level of cool in a room. Then again, it’s kind of hard to compete with someone who had a hand inventing cool in the first place. I said God damn.
